Job Description

Under the direction of the Transport Supervisor or the Director of Transport Services, performs a variety of duties, including transporting patient, medical equipment, and specimens to and from areas within the hospital as assigned. Position: Patient Transport. Department: Patient-Equip Transport. Schedule: Part Time, 16hrs Every Sat/Sun - Evening/Overnight. Saturday start time - 11pm to 7:30am. Sunday start time - 11pm to 7:30am. Essential responsibilities include transporting patients, specimens, equipment and related items safely and comfortably within the hospital, greeting patients and staff in a courteous manner, verifying patient identification, handling supplies and equipment, maintaining logs and documentation, checking transport vehicle safety, following infection control and safety procedures, assisting in emergency disaster plans, and performing dispatcher functions as required. Job requires heavy lifting, interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations. Education preferred is high school diploma or GED, CPR certification preferred, and 6-12 months experience in customer service or patient transportation preferred. Recent overnight shift experience preferred.
